About

Trumpeter Lucas Davis is a creative musician dedicated to spreading peace and love by sharing his music with audiences across the world. He is a passionate improviser, performer, and composer in the jazz world, but has thrived in many genres. He has toured the country with the Troopers and Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps, and has become an integral part of the Bay Area's reggae scene, performing and recording with bands such as Elenah and Rise Up. In the summer of 2025, Lucas will embark on a West Coast tour with Chilean reggae icon Quique Neira, best known for his work with the legendary band Gondwana. Lucas is also a frequent collaborator with Bay Area groups like Seal Party and Bongo Sidibe, and maintains an active career as a freelance trumpeter in both California and Colorado.

Alongside his collaborative work, he leads his own projects and is set to release a co-lead trio album in 2026 featuring drummer Matt Wilson and bassist Alan Jones. A graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Lucas studied jazz, roots, and American music under the mentorship of Mike Rodriguez, Mario Guarneri, Matt Brewer, Anthony Wilson, Marcus Printup, and more.

Music has played a very important role in Lucas’s life. It has served as an outlet for him and turned into a lifelong obsession. He is dedicated to honoring the legacy of Black American Music by learning from the masters, and studying the roots of this music. He is also looking to push the music forward with new innovations in his own compositions and playing while still paying respect to the lineage and history.
